CCTM Certification Volunteers Making it Possible

As you've heard, MSNCB has begun developing a certification for care coordination and transition management (CCTM) to be offered Fall 2015. This important work could not be done without nurses in the CCTM role from both acute and ambulatory care settings contributing their time and talent. ABSNC Grants Reaccreditation to CMSRN® Certification Program

The Accreditation Board for Specialty Nursing Certification, Inc. (ABSNC) has granted reaccreditation for the Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN®) certification program. Accreditation demonstrates that the CMSRN credential is based on a valid and reliable testing process.

CMSRN pin You may not want to wear your heart on your sleeve, but you can certainly wear your CMSRN credential on your lapel! MSNCB now has pins for recertified CMSRNs indicating the number of years certified (5-year pin or 10-year pin). If you're about to recertify, you will receive your pin with your certificate. Ever since the 1999 Institute of Medicine (IOM) study "To Err is Human: Building a Safer Health System," the nation has sat up straight and paid rapt attention to patient safety. Many facilities launched full-bore initiatives and research efforts were redoubled. In the September/October issue of Nephrology Nursing Journal, authors Beth Ulrich and Tamara Kear do a sweeping analysis of the country's progress since the IOM report.
