In 2015, MSNCB reached two milestones. The first: There are now more than 25,000 active CMSRNs. The second: Last year, a record 6,200 med-surg nurses sat for the exam. Congratulations all around!
Volunteer Spotlight: CMSRN Test Development Committee and Item Writers
Many dedicated RNs volunteer behind the scenes at MSNCB to support our initiatives. One example is the CMSRN Test Development Committee and Item Writers, comprised of 15 med-surg nurses representing the specialty. The groups work with our testing agency, C-NET, to create items and review the blueprint. Please join us in thanking the Chair, Cynthia Frazer, and the rest of the members for their contributions.

Recertification News
Important Update: CMSRN Recertification Policy Changed
Effective March 1, 2016, you must submit your recertification application no later than 30 days before your certification expires. This way, you can use your CMSRN credential continuously and seamlessly by allowing enough time to process your application. (Note: Policy affects all certifications expiring March 31, 2016, and later.)

When you recertify by continuing education, the MSNCB Tracker is your online resource for planning, tracking, and applying. Use the Tracker to enter contact hours, review their verification status, and apply for CMSRN recertification. (Note: The Tracker for CCCTM is currently being developed.)
